Good to hear you've got a workaround.  It doesn't sound like a
weakness in the COLLADA_DOM, it would be preferable to fix it as this
issue, or within the OSG plugin.  Having the plugin tinker with the
global local would not be appropriate though as this could get
applications into all manner of issues.
