Thanks for the reply, gee I have been away a while! Your post was from 2011, and this has not been included in the source?

I'm keen to contribute back to OSG so I did a bit more investigation and CMake now supports since 3.4...

"CMake learned to honor *.manifest source files with MSVC tools. Manifest files named as sources of .exe and .dll targets will be merged with linker-generated manifests and embedded in the binary."

I'll test this out and see if it is something that can be included easily.
